Hi Everyone,

Happy Chinese New Year to you all… I am one of those weird people who enjoy every festival even though its not something I actually believe in myself!!.. hmmm.. don’t know what that says about me but I like to believe it means accepting everyone’s right to celebrate their festivals and in turn giving us all a chance to enjoy their culture and live together in peace and harmony.

I chose to wear red today as its an auspicious colour  to start off the New Year according to the Chinese beliefs.. and so as some wise old man or woman once said when in Rome do as the romans do.. I say when in Hongkong do as the locals do!!

My dress today is an Anne klien dress bought at a discount store in Hongkong.. its well made and tailored so it has a nice feel and fit which is great when choosing a dress.

I love this dress, but the length was not right when I first got it and I had to take it up a couple of inches so that it fell just at my knee and not longer.. I personally think this made a big difference to the overall look of the dress.

I chose to wear tan accessories like a tan coloured belt and animal print pumps to add some interest to the outfit.

My idea on wearing a red dress is you got to go all the way… there is no cutting corners.. as its such a vibrant colour and I am sure the occasion to wear it would be equally important.. so vibrant make-up is a must if you want to look your best, as if you wear minimal make-up with such a vibrant and bright colour it would not do justice to your overall look.. so plan your outfit carefully from the dress to the make-up and accessories way before the day you’re going to actually wear it.. as V day is coming up soon and this colour is just calling out to be worn on that special day.. Ok, I know I am 40 now and V day should be just another day for me.. hmm… as I said earlier.. every festival and special day is an excuse to have a good time and enjoy the now…. so just do it.. 😉
